Artists Profile
I have had a love for drawing and painting my whole life. Through the years, and in between working full time,
raising four children [and a husband], I painted every chance I got and took art classes at Lakewood Community
College in Minnesota. And then my dream came true! We vacationed every year on Longboat Key, Florida, and my
dream was to retire there and take classes at the Art Center – which I did in 1993. And I found watercolors.
My favorite subjects are children, the beach, the ocean, and Florida’s tropical flora and fauna, all of which
are the perfect subjects for watercolor. Working in watercolors is an ongoing learning experience, with all the
different conditions and techniques one can factor in. I do commissions of children at the beach and portraits.
I have won numerous awards in local and state shows, and my paintings hang in private collections in the U.S.
